Enterprise Insurance is proud to announce the construction of mechanized boreholes in all sixteen regions of Ghana as part of its Centenary Celebrations and in line with the company’s commitment to making a lasting impact on the communities it serves.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which aims to ensure access to water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Managing Director for Enterprise Insurance, Akosua Ansah-Antwi told Journalists that, Water is life, and yet, according to the UN, billions of people around the world will still lack access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene unless progress towards this goal is accelerated.
“Enterprise Insurance recognizes the crucial role that businesses can play in contributing to this global agenda, and we are determined to take bold steps in addressing the water access challenges faced by many Ghanaian communities,” she said.
A Century of Service, a Legacy of Impact
For 100 years, Enterprise Insurance has been a pillar in the Ghanaian insurance industry, providing reliable protection to individuals and businesses across the country. As we celebrate this significant milestone, we are reminded of our responsibility to give back to the society that has supported our growth. The construction of these mechanized boreholes is more than a corporate social investment; it is a legacy of impact and a demonstration of our deep commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians.
Each of the 16 mechanized boreholes is strategically located to serve communities in need of reliable access to clean and safe water. These boreholes are designed to alleviate the burden of water scarcity, improve hygiene standards, and contribute to better health outcomes, particularly in rural areas where access to potable water remains a challenge.
Supporting SDG Goal 6: A Call to Action
Enterprise Insurance’s decision to focus on water access aligns directly with SDG Goal 6: "Ensure access to water and sanitation for all." Clean water is not just a necessity for survival; it is essential for promoting health, reducing poverty, and fostering economic development. Without accelerated progress, many people will still face the dire consequences of water scarcity by 2030.
“At Enterprise, we believe that addressing this challenge requires collective effort. Our commitment to constructing mechanized boreholes in each region is a call to action for other organizations and stakeholders to join the fight for clean water access. We are hopeful that this initiative will inspire organizations across Ghana to prioritize long-term, sustainable solutions that contribute to national development and global goals” Akosua assures.A Project Worth Emulating

Our mechanized borehole project is a testament to the positive change that corporations can create when they actively engage in meaningful social investments. We encourage other companies to take similar steps, addressing critical issues such as water access, sanitation, education, and healthcare, which are central to sustainable development.

As Enterprise Insurance marks its centenary, we remain committed to making a difference beyond the boardroom. By investing in our communities, we are securing a healthier, more prosperous future for all.

Let us work together to ensure that safe water becomes a reality for every Ghanaian, and by extension, every human being. Join us in this effort to transform lives and build a sustainable future for generations to come.
