Prof. Angela Ofori-Atta is the chairperson of the Ghana Psychology Council, a practicing Clinical Psychologist, researcher and teacher at the University of Ghana Medical School and former head of the Department of Psychiatry.   

She is an accomplished author of several research articles and a book on Trends in Mental Health Research in Ghana. She co-leads the MHealer Research on faith healing camps and the Escaping Poverty Randomized Control Trial where her cognitive behavioural intervention has been tested against conventional economic programs. 

Angela has previously held political office as a Deputy Minister for Manpower Development and Employment in the Kufuor administration and worked on political and activist campaigns including those of Liberian President Sirleaf’s 2005 campaign, and to free Nigerian President Obasanjo from imprisonment under Abacha’s government. 

Angela holds a doctorate and masters in psychology from the University of British Columbia, where she was a Canadian commonwealth scholar, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Zoology from the University of Ghana.
