Douglas is a seasoned insurance practitioner with nearly 35 years' experience. His previous employers include Swiss Re, African Life Insurance Company and Quindiem, where he held executive positions with responsibility for several countries.

He is currently a Special Advisor to LeapFrog Strategic African Investments, a partnership between Prudential Financial Inc and LeapFrog Investments. As well as being a Chartered Insurer(FCII). Douglas holds a BCom Honours Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Leadership, both from the University of South Africa. He has attended Executive courses at Harvard Business School and IMD Business School, Switzerland. He is a South African.

Douglas has worked in Ghana since 2001 and has served on multiple boards in this time. He has also led investments of USD 300 million in Ghana.
