Martin Eson-Benjamin

Mr. Martin Eson-Benjamin is former CEO of the Millennium Development Authority of Ghana (MiDA), the accountable entity for Ghana's Millennium Challenge Account Programme. Martin worked with Kumasi Brewery Ltd, a subsidiary of UAC Ghana Limited from 1972-1981 and moved to Unilever Ghana Limited from 1982 to 1995 and rose to the position of Marketing Director. He rejoined Ghana Breweries Limited, a subsidiary of Heineken International in 1995, for a total of 9 years, starting as Managing Director, and later as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Eson-Benjamin has also served on the Boards of various Organizations. Board appointments include; Chairman of the Multimedia Broadcasting Company Ltd, Chairman of Ghana Agro Foods Company (GAFCO); Chairman of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana, and as a Director of Ecobank Plc, Enterprise Group Plc, CFAO Gh Plc, the Kama Group of Companies, the Ningo Salt Company Ltd and Member of the Presidential Commission on Pensions. He was awarded the Marketing Man of the Year in 1984 and Officer of the National Order of the Volta in 2008.

Dr. Lydia Dsane-Selby

Dr. Dsane-Selby is a highly skilled medical professional with experience spanning over three decades.  She held key positions in the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) which included Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer where she played a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s strategy direction and operational efficiency.  Prior to her tenure at NHIA, Dr. Dsane-Selby served in various medical capacities in the United Kingdom, gaining diverse clinical experience and honing her leadership skills.

She holds a diploma in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Medical Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. 

Setutsi Goka Ivowi

Mrs. Setutsi Goka Ivowi (Tucci Ivowi) is the CEO and a founding member of the Ghana Commodity Exchange. She is an experienced business leader with over twenty (20) years’ experience in marketing and general business management in the UK and emerging markets of Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa’s private and public sectors. Leading teams across multiple markets, she has worked in various roles including Business Unit Director, Marketing Communications Director, and Managing Director in one of the global leading food & beverage companies. In her immediate past role as a Business Executive Officer of Nestle Central & West Africa Ltd, she was the first female and first Ghanaian to have been appointed to the position.

Setutsi is a Chartered Marketer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM). She holds a BA in Politics and French from the University of Sussex, an MBA from Warwick University, and Executive Education in Leadership from the London Business School, all in the UK, as well as a Degree in Political Science from the Institute of Political Studies, in Aix-en-Provence, France.

Michael Tyson

Michael Tyson is the Group Chief Finance Officer responsible for further driving the Group’s financial prudence and profitability. Prior to this appointment, Michael was the General Manager, Finance at Enterprise Life.

Michael joined Enterprise Group PLC in 2014 from Unilever where he started his career and performed various roles within the Finance function.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – CIMA (UK) and holds an MSc in Strategic Business Management from the Manchester Metropolitan University. He is a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) and Certified Life Coach (CL).

C. C. Bruce Jnr.

Cleland Cofie Bruce Jnr. once served as Executive Consultant in charge of Group Expansion in West Africa for Enterprise Group, Prior to that, he was the Chief Operations Officer for the Company. He also served as Executive Director of Enterprise Life Assurance LTD where he led the company to become the biggest Life Insurer in the country.

C.C. Bruce served as Vice President of the Ghana Insurance Association and Chairman of the Life Council between 2010 and 2014. He also chaired the Life Committee of the African Insurance Organisation from 2009 to 2013. C.C. Bruce has over 30 years’ experience in insurance and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII, UK) and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Ghana (FIIG).

He holds a DipFM (ACCA) and a Master Arts (Leading Innovation and Change) from York St. John University, UK.

Daniel Larbi Tieku

Until his appointment to the role of Group Chief Executive Officer in April 2023, Daniel Larbi-Tieku was the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Group PLC. He was the Group Chief Finance officer from 2016 before his appointment as Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer in 2020.

Prior to joining the Enterprise family in June 2011, Daniel worked at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company where he started as a Management Accountant in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become the Head of Finance in the year 2000. 

Daniel also worked in different capacities with Rank Hovis, UK, and Allied Walthamstow, UK between 1995 and 1998. He has attended a vast spread of international seminars and training programs, notable amongst them are, Coca-Cola Fast 1&2 development programs, National Examining Board for Supervisory Management, UK, Process and value engineering in Manufacturing, UK. 

Daniel Larbi-Tieku is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants, UK. Daniel is a Bachelor of Science degree holder in Accounting from the University of Ghana and a finalist in a Master of Finance Degree with the University of Wales (Distance Learning). 

Papa Nii Maale-Adsei, M.D.

Papa Nii is responsible for providing leadership for New Business Growth, Client Relations Management and Marketing. Prior to this, he was key in shaping and executing the health strategy for Enterprise Group and provided medical advisory support for Group and subsidiary initiatives.

Papa Nii is a Medical Officer with over 15 years of experience in various fields of the health industry. He began his professional career at 37 Military Hospital. He later joined Astra Zeneca Plc, where he worked as a Medical Science Liaison for the Ghana Office and later Medical Affairs Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (CVMD), providing scientific support for company sales and marketing operations across the region. Papa Nii has also held roles in health advocacy for several organizations including Vodafone, Pyxera Global and Unilever.

Papa Nii has a BSc in Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) degree from the University of Ghana Medical School. He is also certified in Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

He is an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club and has a keen interest in art, music, and technology.

Vera Kuma

Vera Is the Assistant Head responsible for HSP and Quality Assurance at Acacia Health Insurance. Her responsibilities include the management of Healthcare Service Providers (HSP) and Quality Assurance to build HSP and customer confidence.

Her experience in the Private Health Insurance sector started with Med-X Health Systems, Accra, where she was a Claims/Membership Officer from May 2007 to October 2009. Her portfolio was expanded to include the role of a Client Relations Officer from November 2009 to December 2010, and later, as a Senior Claims/Membership Officer.

She joined Acacia as a Senior Claims/Membership Officer. She was later appointed as the Deputy HSPs Manager from 2016 to December 2021.

Vera holds a BSc. Marketing Degree from the Central University College and a Certificate in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

She is a proud old student of Mfantsiman Girls and is actively involved in activities geared toward assisting her Alma Mater to remain one of the best secondary schools in Ghana. She is a former Vice President of her year group and belongs to the Business Club for old students where she shares her rich experience in diverse capacities. Vera fellowships with the Exhibition Assemblies of God Church in Dansoman-Accra. She is passionate about youth development and philanthropic work.

Gifty Laar

Gifty is an astute human resource professional with over fourteen (14) years of experience in the Ghanaian financial services sector. She has oversight responsibility for employee relations and human capital development. She brings to the role diverse experience in delivering excellent employee experience.

Gifty started her career as a Lead Generator with the then Barclays Bank Ghana Ltd (Now Absa Bank Ghana Ltd), handling portfolios in sales, and as a Front Desk Officer in 2008. She joined Enterprise Insurance in 2010 as an Administrative Officer. She was subsequently appointed PA & HR/Administrative Officer. In 2020 she was appointed as the HR Administrator & L&D Coordinator for Enterprise Group PLC. She was responsible for various corporate events and programmes designed to improve Employee Experience for Enterprise Group and Its Subsidiaries. She held this role until she was appointed the Acting HR Business Partner for Acacia in 2022.

Gifty holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – US, and a member of the SHRM Forum Ghana.

Gifty loves nature, flowers, décor, and event planning which she usually does for family and friends. She is married with three adorable children.

Emmanuel Yaw Osei, ACII

Emmanuel has over a decade of experience in the insurance industry and chairs the supervision of the claims department with strategic initiatives in managing the overall claims ratios. He is a member of the team that formulates and implements policies for the growth and profitability of the Acacia.

Emmanuel started his career as an officer with the membership and IT department. A year later, he transitioned to the claims department, with a complete responsibility for managing Acacia’s claims software. He was promoted to a claims supervisor with the responsibility of overseeing the HSP’s portfolio, after two years of hard work.

With the strategic restructuring of the department, Emmanuel was promoted to the position of deputy claims manager, with key responsibilities including overall claims management and monitoring of group & individual sums assured.

Emmanuel holds an MBA in accounting from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University for Development Studies. He holds a diploma in private medical insurance practice, UK, and is a chartered insurer and an associate member of the CII-UK and CII-Ghana. Emmanuel is also proficient in data analytics.

Emmanuel is a resourced person at Ghana insurance college, where he teaches advanced diploma courses (life, critical illness and disability underwriting, private medical insurance practice, short courses etc.)

Emmanuel is also a member of the committee set up by the Ghana insurance college to review and recommend new insurance syllabus that aligns with the Ghanaian insurance practice, for the development of the Ghanaian insurance industry.

Justine Avevor

Justine assists the Head of Growth in managing the sales executives of Acacia. Her main role is to ensure all sales activities of Acacia are tailored to meet client needs and expectations. Her work cuts across other departments, and build-up network partners of Acacia. She also works closely with the claims department, to help manage the overall profitability of clients’ portfolios, and to ensure that systems are put in place to meet yearly sales targets.

Justine began her sales & marketing career with Nationwide Medical Health (NHM), from 2007-2010 as a sales officer. During her time at NHM, she led the growth of the clientele base as well as created awareness of the NMH brand. Prior to joining the team in Acacia, Justine worked at Med-X Health System, for two years (2010 to 2012) as a Senior Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Executive. During this period, Med-X recorded one of the highest growths in their clientele base as well as an increase in the client retention rate. Her drive to grow the clientele of Acacia has been key to her progress in the field of private health insurance marketing, and instrumental in making the Acacia brand a household name.

Justine holds an MBA in Marketing, from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and a BSc. In Marketing, from the University of Professional Studies, Accra. Justine is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) and holds a Diploma in Insurance from the Ghana Insurance College, Accra.

Justine is the financial secretary of the women’s group in her church, St. Clement Catholic Church, Katamanso. She is also a member of the ladies of Marshall, a Catholic-friendly society and Secretary to a family society group.

Justine loves baking cakes on weekends for her family and friends. She is married with three lovely daughters.

Maureen Tessa Pentsil

Maureen is instrumental in the formulation of policies and procedures that impact services to scheme members. Under her leadership at Acacia, the client relations department was set up, and it currently manages over 32,000 insureds. She has also been at the forefront of promoting the company's high service delivery standards. Her greatest asset is her excellent human relationship skills that have ensured optimal retention of Acacia’s client base

Maureen was part of the pioneering team which started Acacia Health Insurance in 2012, as a Client Relations Manager. As an astute Client Relations person, she brings on board 16 years of working experience in the Customer Service Industry.

Maureen holds a Masters in International Business Administration from Universita Degli Studi Gugliemo Marconi and a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Central University College. 

Maureen’s passion for Fine Arts comes to bear in her free time as she spends her time creating schemes for Interior and Outdoor designs for family and friends.

Anthony Baiden Danyie

Anthony is responsible for maintaining system integrity and security, managing the technology budget and overseeing the management of all IT applications and infrastructure at Acacia.

Anthony joined the Health Insurance Industry as a Database administrator for First Fidelity Health, after 2 years of working in the Information Technology Industry in various capacities. He moved to Acacia Health Insurance in 2012 as an IT officer, heading the membership department. Anthony currently holds the position of Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Account Manager for Acacia Health Insurance

He holds a BA in Computer Science from Wisconsin University, Ghana, and an MSc. in Information Communication Technology from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

In his spare time, Anthony enjoys watching football, particularly the English Premier League and is a staunch supporter of Arsenal Football Club.

Sampson Kwasi Sarfo

Sampson brings over a decade of experience acquired through his working in the Private Health Insurance industry to Team Acacia. His core responsibility is to lead Acacia in its quest to deliver quality, affordable and accessible healthcare services to corporate Ghana.

 

Sampson is part of the pioneering team that set up Acacia in 2012, where he led the onboarding of over 600 Healthcare Service Providers (HSPs) across Ghana. In 2015, the HSPs department was merged with the Claims department, with Sampson assuming the role of Head of Claims and Healthcare Service Providers networks. His mandate was to maintain business profitability, build HSP confidence, and ensure that all disputes surrounding claims are resolved to the delight of clients, HSPs and other relevant stakeholders. This has led to positive recommendations from Health Service Providers to their corporate clients, culminating in an increase in Acacia’s client base.

Sampson holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon Accra, and a B.Ed. in Educational Foundations from the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast

He also holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Insurance Studies at Ghana Insurance College/Malta International Training Institute. He also holds a qualification from Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK.

In his personal life, he offers mentorship and coaching to students on career choices whilst in and after school.

Dan Vincent Armooh, M.D.

Dan leads Team Acacia and manages the Acacia Health Insurance Business. Among his many responsibilities, Dan is responsible for creating strategic alignment, accelerating execution of plans, energising staff, building customer-centric relationships and engaging stakeholders.

Dan began his career as a house officer/medical officer at the 37 Military Hospital, and moved into private practice, joining C&J Medicare Centre where he rose to the position of Deputy Director (diagnostics). He joined the erstwhile Managed Health Care Company as Head of Claims and Medical Networking, before later moving to Acacia Health as the CEO in 2015.

He holds a B.Sc in Human Biology and an MBChB from the KNUST. He also holds an MBA from the Central University Graduate School of Business and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Sheffield, UK.

In addition to having completed the WHO flagship course on Health Systems, Dan also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Economics for Health Professionals from the University of Aberdeen, the UK, and a Certificate in Health Policy and Financing from the Royal Tropical Institute, The Netherlands.

Dan is a Life member of Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International (Royal Chapter) and he enjoys a variety of recreational activities from playing chess, Scrabble, and football to archery, piano, and photography.

Keli Gadzekpo

Keli Gadzekpo was appointed the Board Chairman for Enterprise Group PLC in 2023. Prior to, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Group PLC from 2014. He has over two decades experience in investment banking since co-founding Databank, he has contributed to the development of the capital market and the Stock Exchange in Ghana through his oversight of Databank Brokerage Limited. 

Mr. Gadzekpo is the Chairman of the Databank Foundation and also a Director of Ventures & Acquisitions Limited, Databank Epack Investment Fund and the North Ridge School. Mr. Gadzekpo went to Achimota School; he holds a BSc in Accounting from the Brigham Young University and is a CPA from the USA. 

He is also a Mason Fellow of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University where he earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He is Ghanaian. 

Paul Lawer Tettey

Paul joined the Transitions team in 2016 as a Finance Manager with vast experience in Risk Management, Business setup, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. Paul has several years of experience in Finance roles having worked in the Banking and Investment industry in Senior Management Capacity. In 2020, Paul was promoted to Head of Finance. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. He holds Masters in Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Cape Coast.
